Focusing our ability on providing and supporting technical products, J.O. Galloup consists of the following specialty divisions:

Smith Instrument is a representative of leading manufacturers of industrial control instrumentation, for measuring and controlling the flow, pressure, temperature, pH, conductivity and level of process fluids.

Merlo Energy is a manufacturer's representative and stocking distributor of steam, liquid and air specialty products and services, which focus on energy conservation, heating products, and field services.

Process Equipment Division specializes in sanitary piping, valves, hose assemblies, and process equipment for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.

Fluid Sealing Division applies sealing devices to rotating equipment and other applications. Products include gaskets, packing, mechanical seals and expansion joints.

Fire Protection Division is a full line supplier to fire protection contractors. Products include pipe, valves, fittings, sprinkler heads, devices and fabrication.

History

The company had its start as a small plumbing shop opened in 1886 by John Olin Galloup in the basement under a clothing store in Battle Creek, Michigan. Members of the Galloup family owned and managed the company for four generations before selling it to the current management in 2006.
